two sacraments

WATER BAPTISM: Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new Christian is commanded by Jesus to be water baptized in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Jesus himself was baptized, as a model to us, and as a symbol of our new life in Him. In the examples of baptism in the Bible, only those who were old enough to understand and accept Christ were baptized. We follow the examples by baptizing believers in the Bible. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38)

THE LORD'S SUPPER (COMMUNION): This sacrament is a chance to celebrate the new life we have in Christ, remember the sacrifice He made for us, and to reflect on how to become more like Him. The bread reminds us of Jesus' body that was broken for us, and the grape juice reminds us of His blood that was spilled for us. (Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48; I Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25)
